Arcadia University Celebrates Dr. Seuss' Literary World with Community Carnival

Fun for the small to the tall, pretty much anyone at all

Arcadia University’s Community and Civic Engagement Center (CCEC) will host its annual community event celebrating Dr. Seuss and his contributions to children’s literacy.

The 16th annual Dr. Seuss Day is set for Sunday, Feb. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Grey Towers Castle, and is open to the public. Children from kindergarten to third grade, who are accompanied by an adult, can enjoy the mini carnival that brings the stories of Dr. Seuss to life. Activity stations at the event include face-painting, juggling, storytelling, and button making.

Additionally, the Arcadia community is getting creative with a Seuss-themed cake contest, and children will judge on which treats look and taste the best.

This event was established in memory of Jami Rodriguez, an Arcadia alumna. All donations received support the Jami Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship, which “recognizes current full-time undergraduates who have made contributions to campus life through dedication and community service.”

Registration for Dr. Seuss Day is required.
