Arcadia University's 22nd Annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner

Location: Arcadia University 450 South Easton Road Glenside, PA 19038 Contact Information: ccec@arcadia.edu

Arcadia University’s Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner is held every November and serves as an opportunity for members of the community to come together to raise awareness of hunger and homelessness internationally and within our own community. 100% of the proceeds from this dinner are donated to Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network, a local agency that provides temporary shelter and food to homeless families and The Hunger Project, which promotes hunger relief and economic stability through improved agricultural techniques world-wide. Those attending the event choose a ceramic bowl, handcrafted by a member of the community, when they arrive at the dinner to be used as their soup bowl for the evening. The bowl is filled with delicious soups donated by area restaurants and individuals from the surrounding community. When the dinner is over, each person takes home the bowl he or she ate from. The bowl serves as a reminder to the one who ate from it that somewhere in the world, someone is without a meal or shelter.

The 22nd Annual Empty Bowl Benefit dinner this year will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 and is located in Grey Towers Castle. There will be continuous seating from 4:30 - 6:00 PM and 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Tickets are $12 for students and children and $15 for non-students.
