Arcadia Welcomes Top Civil Rights Lawyer As First-Year Speaker

Arcadia University hosts Bryan Stevenson, author and founder of the legal advocacy organization Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), to discuss his book,Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption on Oct. 6. Selected as the common reading for all new students, Just Mercy chronicles one of Stevenson’s first cases with EJI, to overturn the conviction of a man who was sentenced to death for a murder he insisted he did not commit.

Stevenson is one of the nation’s foremost civil rights lawyers and has dedicated his career to defending the poor, the wrongly condemned, and women and children.
