A Bald Eagle was in a tree in Hatboro. Meanwhile, Penn State Abington has a new dean.
EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA —It was a Bald Eagle perched in a tree. This bird also caused much excitement in Hatboro because it was hanging out in the borough's downtown district.

Penn State Abington Names New Chancellor
Penn State Abington has a new chancellor and dean. Gary Liguori has been named to the posts, effective Monday. The former provost and vice president of academic affairs at the University of West Florida was selected following a national search. (Read this Patch story for more details.)

Pickleball Popularity Picking Up In Hatboro-Horsham
The pickleball craze is picking up in Hatboro and Horsham. One week after plans were announced for a new pickleball facility will open this summer in Hatboro, Horsham Township Council discussed plans for more pickleball courts. At its meeting Monday night, the council reviewed a plan to build an indoor pickleball facility on Easton Road. (Read this Patch story for more details.)

Rooster's Replacing Keswick Tavern In Glenside
The Keswick Tavern in Glenside will be replaced by a group joining forces to open Rooster's, which is expected sometime in the fall. Stove and Co. Restaurant Group will team up with the owners of Jasper's Backyard to open Rooster's at 294 N. Keswick Ave. sometime this fall. The business will be a bar, restaurant, and community space.
