Ballet Classes at Metropolitan Ballet Start September 13, 2021

Nationally recognized Metropolitan Ballet Academy invites new and prospective students to register for classes now. Classes officially begin on Monday, September 13.

One of “seven local studios in America cultivating top talent” (Pointe magazine), Metropolitan is recognized by the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) national ballet organization, with school and director awards, and its students earn highest honors in local, regional, and national competitions. This fall, Princess Grace Foundation Awardee, Jenelle Figgins (formerly Dance Theatre of Harlem, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet), joins the ballet faculty.

Metropolitan Ballet sends many young dancers off to prestigious pre-professional programs and alumni are dancing in major companies. But Met’s mission is broader: here, young people develop physical strength, healthy posture, and make life-long friendships outside of the regular school day. The life skills of tenacity, time management, and teamwork position Met students for success, and many cite their rigorous classical training as a framework for achievement in S.T.E.M. careers.

Metropolitan Faculty include: Natalya Lushina Zeiger (former soloist, Bolshoi Ballet); Daniel Mayo (Juilliard, formerly BalletX); Sarah Mettin (contemporary choreographer and faculty), and John Selya (ABT, Twyla Tharp, Tony-nominee) Founder, Lisa Collins Vidnovic (formerly Pennsylvania Ballet) teaches all levels. Some of the world’s most illustrious guest teaching artists offer master classes in ballet, jazz, modern, & theatre dance.

The littlest dancers, ages 3-4, and 5-6 year- old’s, are nurtured in Creative Movement classes, where discovery and fun are top priorities. The curriculum gradually expands, laying a strong foundation for classical dance training. Highly skilled teachers have invested years developing age-appropriate, enjoyable, and meaningful classes.

Metropolitan alumni are dancing in trainee and professional companies across the country, including Philadelphia Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, and more. Many head off to S.T.E. M. college studies and careers.

Metropolitan is now accepting registration for boys and girls ages 3 – 18. Adult classes for beginners and intermediate levels too. www.metropolitanballetacademy.... or call 215.663.1665. Metropolitan Ballet Academy and Company, 700 N. Cedar Road, Jenkintown PA 19046
