Why are you seeking a position in local government?
Small-to-midsize towns, particularly post-pandemic, require a serious re-think and deserve representation that understands how local government can balance many competing demands. I have enjoyed both serving the residents of Ward 13 specifically and also thinking big to help all of Abington build a brighter future.

What are your qualifications/experience?
I am the incumbent candidate and serve as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, which recently completed a plan that will guide our budgets and strategic investments for years to come. As an active member of the Finance Committee, I have played an active role in shaping our budgets and ensuring overall fiscal responsibility.

What are three main issues you plan to take on in office?
(1) We need to articulate a long-term strategy for responsible economic development. (2) We must prioritize investment in our parks and recreation facilities. (3) We need to build on our investments in technology and other tools aimed at continually improving how we serve the residents of Abington.

Who are elected officials or political/community leaders who inspire you?
I admire the courage of the late Representative John Lewis, the oratorical skill of President Obama, the optimism, determination, and industriousness of PA Governor Josh Shapiro, the political temperament of Condoleeza Rice, and the way in which Secretary Pete Buttigieg is able to connect policy to people.

What are some other personal information details you want voters to know about you ahead of the election?
Inner-ring suburbs are becoming increasingly diverse, rich in backgrounds and perspectives. It is wonderful, but it also requires leaders who can represent all constituents with inclusiveness and safety front of mind. I carry these values with me in my personal life, and I am deeply passionate about making sure traditionally marginalized populations feel welcome and safe here in Glenside. Those with a fixed mindset eschew this approach…but it is an essential quality of a 21st century leader.
