Bryn Athyn College & Glencairn Museum host Building Arts slide presentation July 13
'Preserving Our Heritage by Teaching the Building Arts' highlights the contemporary work of 4 area artisans and instructors.
The community is invited to discover how the architectural building arts, as taught and practiced at Bryn Athyn College, fit into our built environment and our personal and community aesthetic on Wednesday, July 13, in Bryn Athyn.
“Preserving Our Heritage by Teaching the Building Arts” includes a panel lecture with blacksmith Warren Holzman, master stone carver Jens Langlotz, mosaic artist Carol Stirton-Broad and stained glass artist J. Kenneth Leap, four artisans connected to the Bryn Athyn Historic District as craftsmen and instructors in the College’s Summer Building Arts Workshops program. Leap is director of the program, now in its fifth year.
The artists will discuss their work in metal, stone, mosaic and glass, respectively, and present an informal slide show of pieces from their repertoires.

The event, which is open to the community at no charge, is held in the Great Hall at Glencairn Museum—where ancient and contemporary works in the four media can be viewed in situ.
