Burglars Posed As Aqua Worker In Abington Township Incident

Police in Abington Township said a Huntingdon Valley couple had jewelry and cash stolen by men posing as Aqua Pennsylvania workers.

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — Police in Abington Township said a home was targeted by burglars posing as utility company workers recently.

According to police, officers were called to a home on Lee Lynn Lane in Huntingdon Valley Friday.

Residents of the home said jewelry and cash were taken from a bedroom in their home.

Police said two men claiming to be workers for Aqua Pennsylvania knocked on the residential door Friday.

The two men were wearing orange vests, face masks, and had laminated identifications around their necks.

One said he needed to check their water due to an emergency, police said.

He went into the basement with one of the residents, while the wife monitored the faucet in the kitchen.

The other man was last seen outside.

The man in the basement was talking on a walkie-talkie and said he had to confer with his partner outside.

Police said that man went outside and never came back.

That's when the residents learned the jewelry and cash had gone missing, police said.
