Busy Abington Road Closing Weekdays Through Mid-July

ABINGTON, PA — York Road in Abington Township will be closed weekdays through mid July due to PECO work.

According to PennDOT, York Road/Route 611 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays starting Monday, June 19.

The weekday closure will be in place through Friday, July 14.

The affected portion of road is between Old Welsh Road and Moreland Road/Route 63.

During the closure, passenger vehicles will be directed to use Old Welsh Road, Edge Hill Road, and Route 63 (Moreland Road).

Large trucks will be directed to use Route 63 (Moreland Avenue), Easton Road, and Old Welsh Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
