Come to the Pennypack Trust in Huntingdon Valley for a Tweet and Greet event on Sunday, June 14th from 9 AM until 1 PM. This event will feature guided bird walks, a talk and bird of prey demonstration by the falconers at Master of the Skies, opportunities to speak with our partners at Bird Safe Philly, Liberty Bird Alliance, Bird Town Pennsylvania and many others. There will be crafts for the kids, raffles, snacks for sale and Traveling Tom’s coffee truck will be selling coffee and other signature drinks. 
Come out and learn about our feathered friends and the habitats that support them!

Metropolitan Ballet Company

Metropolitan Ballet, located in Jenkintown, is a nonprofit organization holding its annual audition for it's full year tuition-free Boys' Scholarship Program. Classes begin in September 2026. Ages 7-17. No experience necessary, weekly, all-guys classes, and world class male instructors -Lead Faculty, Daniel Mayo (Julliard, BalletX) and Vitaly Verterich (Kiev Ballet School, Riverdance on Broadway). Wear gym clothes and socks for a 45 minute beginner class. Classes Enhance athletic skills, motor intelligence, balance, flexibility and strength. Performance opportunities. Come explore the fun!
From the academy’s announcement: "The Boys’ Scholarship Program provides tuition-free training in all-male classes designed to build motor intelligence, flexibility, and strength. Approximately 50 boys enroll each year for beginner – advanced Classical training, along with classes in Modern and Jazz dance. The Boys’ Scholarship Program has provided over $1.5 million in tuition-free classes to over 425 boys since its founding in 1999. The rigors of classical training and performance provide a framework for success for boys who build tenacity, time management and teamwork skills."

The Metropolitan Ballet Academy in Jenkintown is hosting auditions and an information session for their Boys’ Scholarship Program on Saturday, June 6 at 9:00am. The auditions are open to boys ages 7-18. Selected participants are eligible to receive free, weekly dance classes plus performance opportunities from September 2026 through June 2027. The classes will be taught by Metropolitan men’s faculty lead, Daniel Mayo (Juilliard graduate and formerly BalletX) and Vitaly Verterich (Kiev Ballet School, Moscow Chamber Ballet, Riverdance on Broadway) as well as modern and jazz faculty. beautiful neighborhoods, and celebrate afterwards on our town square.
Are you ready to run the Summit? This challenging tree lined 5k 
course winds it’s way through the borough of Jenkintown without crossing
 Old York Rd. One of the largest evening 5K runs around. Come on out 
and join us! Live Music, food and prizes for all age groups.
Run Benefits : The Kiwanis Foundation of Jenkintown.
Kids Dash is for ages 6 and under, and no registration is required. All children will receive a prize.
Open Team Registration: Teams of 4 are encourage to participate, but you can have more on your team and are encouraged to do so.
The run will be held, rain or shine.
Starting Line:
The race 
starts and ends on Leedom St by the Town Square. The Kids Dash starts 
at 6:35PM, Runners start at 7:00PM. We are doing corral starts this 
year.The corrals will be as follow: Under 7 minutes, 7-9minutes, 
9-11minutes, and Over 11 minutes.
Registration Fees:
 Early Registration: $30 (1/1-1/31) Pre- Registration: $35 (2/1- 4/14) Late registration: $40 (4/15-5/24) Team Early Registration: $27 per person (1/2-1/31) must have a minimum of 4 people per team. Team Pre- Registration: $32 per person (2/1-4/14)- must have a minimum of 4 people per team. Team Late registration: $37 per person (4/15-5/24)- must have a minimum of 4 people per team. “Day of Race” Registration, $40 (online from 5/25-6/2 at 12AM) Child- 10 and under, $20 Early Registration (online from 1/1-1/31) Child-10 and under, $25 Registration (2/1-5/24) Child -10 and under “Day of Race” Registration, $25 (online from 5/25-6/2) Kids Dash 6 and under, free (no registration required) No “Day of Race” Team Registration Allowed Teams: top four times count
The Route:

All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt while supplies last!
For those who sign up online by 5/24, you may pick up your race 
packet at Jenkintown Running Co, 416 Old York Rd, during business hours 
between May 30- June 1. For those who sign up online on or after 
5/25: On June 2nd, race day, you may pick up your packet at our 
pre-registration check-in table starting at 5:00pm.
