Center School Students Provide Friendship to Alzheimer's Patients
Center School students learn about Alzheimer's with a visit to Manor Care

Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease that ravages memory. Today, Center School students learned about this first hand with a visit to Manor Care in Montgomeryville.
A group of Center School students, including members of the Student Council, visited with residents of Manor Care and led crafts and activities. Students provided warmth and companionship while understanding how this disease affects the memory of those that are affected by it.
Prior to the visit, students learned about the effects of Alzheimer’s in reading, health, and science classes to prepare them for the visit. Students learned how the disease originates, how it is diagnosed and treated, the symptoms a patient exhibits, how the disease progresses and how families are affected by Alzheimer’s.
