Cheltenham Township Police Chief Retires
Commissioners honored its police chief after 37 years with the Cheltenham Township Police Department.
CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners this week honored its police chief in his retirement.
At its meeting on Wednesday night, commissioners recognized Police Chief John P. Slavin with a resolution upon his retirement after 37 years with the Cheltenham Township Police Department.
Commissioners gifted Slavin with a wooden flag bearing his badge, beautifully handcrafted by township employee Ronn Donnelly, owner of Sierra Bella Rustics.

Commissioners also honored Kevin Feiner for 50 years of dedicated volunteer service to the Elkins Park Fire Company.

Jonathan Altshul was officially appointed township manager and board secretary, effective Sept. 8.
Altshul gave some opening remarks at the meeting, stating his excitement to work with the community.
