Child, 2, Critically Injured By Fallen Tree Branch In Eastern Montco
Cheltenham Township Police said the boy was playing in a driveway with others when a large tree branch fell on him on Saturday night.
CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —A 2-year-old boy was critically injured after a large tree branch crushed his arm, police said.
Around 6:06 p.m. Saturday, Cheltenham Township Police, EMS, and Fire Department responded to the 7900 Block of Chandler Road in the township's Glenside section for a report of a tree that had fallen on a child.
Upon arrival, a 2-year-old child was found to have sustained critical injuries, including an amputated arm from a large tree branch that had fallen about 50 feet.

Lifesaving care was provided at the scene by responders and the child was flown by helicopter to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
An initial investigation revealed that the tree branch had fallen on the child while a group of children were playing in the driveway.

The identity of the child is being withheld due to the child's age.
Police said at this time it appears to be a tragic accident, however, the case is being investigated by Cheltenham Detectives.
