Community Development Block Grant Applications Open In Abington

The township is hosting a free training Thursday morning for parties interested in applying for the grants. See details here.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Applications for Abington Township's Community Development Block Grant program are now being accepted, and interested parties are invited to submit.

The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. Friday, March 17.

Late submissions will not be considered.

Completed applications should be sent to communitydevelopment@abingtonpa.gov.

The training will be held at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend the training.

The training will include a summary of Wednesday's needs hearing for the program, as well.

This will ensure community stakeholders have an opportunity to present an oral or written testimony concerning the needs of the township, and the use of funds to address those needs over the next year.

Past awarded CDBG funds have been used for a Food Pantry Assistance Grant Program, rehabilitation improvements to create a community senior center, home rehabilitation projects that help our low-income residents keep their homes safe places to lives, and sidewalk improvements to increase accessibility and pedestrian safety.
