With nearly 17,000 votes cast in Abington Township and Rockledge Borough, the new middle school was approved in a special referendum during the May 2024 primary election. The project received 8,676 yes votes to 8,129 no votes.
The school district has sought community feedback on the project, including a recent meeting with neighbors whose properties immediately border the Middle School property, as well as ongoing discussions with Middle School personnel to ensure designs align with student and staff needs.
A recent online survey found:
- Nearly 1,800 respondents provided input, more than any other survey related to the Middle School Project to date.
- This feedback helped confirm or redirect the project team's alignment in creating a building design that is the best fit for the community.
More information, including a registration link, will be forthcoming. Updates will be shared to the One ASD, One Future website and emailed to the community, school officials said.
