Community Rallying To Support Slain Montco Teenager's Family

Keivon ​Abraham, 16, was shot and killed in Philadelphia in the early morning hours of Memorial Day. A GoFundMe seeks to help his family.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — After an Abington High School sophomore was killed in Philadelphia, the community is looking to support the slain teen's family.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established for the grandmother of Keivon Abraham.

Abraham, 16, was shot and killed in Philadelphia in the early morning hours of Memorial Day.

According to the GoFundMe organizers, Abraham was looking forward to finding a summer job at a local car dealership "so he didn't need to ask his grandmother for back-to-school stuff in the fall."

"We hope to raise some money to help Keivon's grandmother with the expenses of a funeral/memorial service and to ease some of the burdens during this unbearable time for their family," organizers wrote. "Please know that any donation will go directly to the family to plan for Keivon's memorial."

As of Friday afternoon, $600 of the $10,000 goal has been raised.

No arrests have been made and police believe the gunman was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt or long sleeve gray shirt, black pants, and white sneakers.
