Demolition Of 4 Old York Road Properties Begins: Abington Township

Officials said during the demolition work, the right southbound lane of Old York Road will be closed right in front of the properties.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The demolition of four Old York Road properties in Abington Township is now underway.

Work to demolish properties at 1100, 1102, 1104, and 1106 Old York Road has begun.

According to the township, the right southbound lane of Old York Road will be closed directly in front of the buildings being demolished, and the sidewalks surrounding the buildings will be closed

Signage and traffic cones will be used north of the restriction point to merge all southbound traffic into the left southbound lane.

The intersection itself will remain open, and right turns from southbound Old York onto westbound Susquehanna will still be allowed from the remaining southbound lane of 611.
