FAMILIES FIND FREE SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION AT AMERICAN CAMP ASSOCIATION'S BUCKS COUNTY CAMP EXPO ON JANUARY 16, 2016

Camp Fairs Help Families Learn About Their Camp Choices for 2016 - Find the Right Camp for Your Children and Budget

Doylestown, PA – The nonprofit American Camp Association® (ACA) presents the ACA Bucks County Camp Expo on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm in the Student Center Building at Delaware Valley University, 700 E. Butler Ave., Doylestown, PA 18901. Free admission helps families learn more about day and overnight summer camps, and find a camp that meets their budget and family needs.

The ACA Bucks County Camp Expo enables parents and children to meet representatives from nearly 50 traditional day and overnight camps, special interest and sports camps, academic and adventure camps, teen travel tours, and programs for children with special needs. Parents can also learn about choosing a camp and preparing a child for camp from the ACA, which has been serving families and camps for more than 100 years. ACA has run the Bucks Camp Expo for nearly 20 years to connect families and camps, because every child deserves a summer camp experience.

Research shows that camp is critical to the education and development of the whole child. Camp helps kids get unplugged and reconnect with nature, build human relationships, find positive role models, make lifelong friendships, and learn critical life skills such as leadership, independence, teamwork, communication, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and self-esteem.

Camp fairs like the ACA Bucks County Camp Expo introduce families to the wide range of programs available near and far. Parents can also ask about camps’ costs and tuition assistance, session length, camper age range, location, special programs, services for special needs children, and whether a camp is accredited by the American Camp Association. Most importantly, parents can speak personally with camp representatives to learn about the camp’s philosophy, programs, and policies. Find a list of questions to ask camp directors at www.campparents.org, a valuable online resource presented by the ACA.

Camps who wish to exhibit and meet families at the ACA Bucks County Camp Expo may register online at www.acacamps.org/keystone/campexpo. For additional information, please contact Expo Coordinator Ellen Warren at 215-886-1666 or ellenwarren@comcast.net.
