Felony Charges Filed In Abington Bank Robbery, Cop Car Crash Incident

Charles Clark and Emanuel Glass are accused of robbing an Abington bank then crashing into a police vehicle Tuesday in the township.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Abington Township have identified the two men accused of robbing a bank and crashing a vehicle into a police vehicle recently.

According to police, Charles Clark, 29, and Emanuel Glass, 27, both of Philadelphia, are the two police said robbed a bank on the 1300 block of Old York Road at about 3:27 p.m. Tuesday.

Clark is charged with felony robbery, felony receiving stolen property, felony firearm violations, and more crimes. Glass is charged with similar crimes.

According to police, officers were called to the bank for a report of a robbery.

Responding offices were given descriptions of two men and the vehicle they were driving in, and found the vehicle in the area of Meetinghouse Road at Fox Chase Road.

Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the suspects continued driving, causing several minor accidents before colliding with an Abington Police vehicle at Meetinghouse and Jenkintown roads.

The two suspects tried to run off but were apprehended by officers.

Police found money stolen from the bank and a handgun near where one of the suspects was taken into custody, authorities said.

Glass and Clark are being held in Montgomery County in lieu of bail and are scheduled for Jan. 25 preliminary hearings, court records show.
