Fire Under Investigation In Jenkintown
Jenkintown and mutual aid companies fought a fire at a Hillside Avenue home on Monday morning.
JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA —A fire at a Hillside Avenue home early Monday morning is under investigation, authorities said.
Several eastern Montgomery County fire companies battled a house fire at 221 Hillside Ave. that took place at 7:17 a.m. Monday.
Police Chief Thomas M. Scott and Fire Chief Ken Lynch said that one resident and several pets were evacuated from the residence by Jenkintown police officers.

There were no injuries reported but the resident was transported to Jefferson-Abington for evaluation.
Fire crews contained most of the damage to the rear porch, authorities said.

The Jenkintown Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
The fire department was assisted by fire companies from Abington, Glenside, Edge Hill, LaMott, McKinley, Rockledge, Roslyn, and Weldon, along with the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad.
