Free Electronics Recycling Event Scheduled In Abington

The free "Anything with a Plug" event will be held this weekend in Abington.

ABINGTON, PA — The free "Anything with a Plug" recycling event will be held this weekend in Abington.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Yard. It's open to residents of Abington and nearby communities.

Larger items like desktop computer monitors or televisions may have a fee depending on their size.

Free items include laptops, peripheral, typewriters, telephones, microwaves, cameras, cell-phones, calculators, dehumidifiers, computers, mice, small appliances, fax machines, keyboards, printers and air conditioners, the township said.

The Abington Environmental Advisory Council will be collecting food items for the local food pantry during the event; if you donate, you will receive a Go Green Rewards Card credit.

Two more events will be held later this year at the same time and location on June 13 and Nov. 14.

The Public Works Yard is located on 2201 Florey Lane in Abington.
