EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA —The Jenkintown Food Cupboard is now offering patrons fresh fruit and vegetables every week.

The cupboard has teamed up with Horsham's Pennypack Farm and Educational Center, where the planting has been underway this spring.

"We’ve been very busy this past week or so planting away all the different summer veggies! The crew planted all sorts of tomatoes and squash," the Pennypack Farm & Education Center said on Facebook.

A picture shows two workers planting tomatoes by hand because the soil was too wet to drive the transplanter and tractor.

"When this happens, we hand roll out the wheels that space and poke the holes," the post reads. "Then we hook up hoses to the transplanter tanks that are full of water and fish emulsion fertilizer. We then water each hole before planting."

The first round of tomatoes includes varieties such as Carbon, Chef Choice Bicolor, Lemon Boy, Celebrity Plus, Big Beef, and Chef Choice Orange.
