Now, "Fruit Ninja" has a new meaning in Abington.

Abington Senior High School English teacher Mariam Freeman launched the "Fruit Ninjas" program after seeing uneaten fruits being wasted at the school.

According to Action News, the program donates uneaten fruits to the Willow Grove Baptist Food Pantry.

The outlet reports about 1,000 pounds of fruit is expected to be donated by winter break.
