Garage Fire Under Investigation In Abington Township
The McKinley Fire Company said the fire happened early Sunday morning at a home on Barrowdale Road.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A garage fire over the weekend is under investigation, fire officials said.
The McKinley Fire Company responded at 4:40 a.m. Sunday to Barrowdale Road for a reported garage fire.
First arriving units confirmed a fully involved detached garage and the working fire dispatch was struck bringing the full fire department response and mutual aid, fire officials said.

Quick work by the fire crews held the fire to the garage with only a minor extension to the residence, officials said.
Fire officials said all occupants could escape the home and no injuries to responders were reported.

The fire company thanked mutual aid responding companies, cover companies, and fire marshals from Lower Moreland and Cheltenham townships who aided in the investigation.
Among the fire companies who responded included Abington Fire Company, Weldon Fire Company, Edge Hill Fire Company, Roslyn Fire Company, Rockledge Fire Company, Jenkintown Fire Company, Fort Washington Fire Company, Wyndmoor Hose Company, Second Alarmer's Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, and the Abington Township Police Department.
