The driver, later identified as Ford, was ordered out of the vehicle, and while initially resistant he eventually got out but was evasive, police said.

This led the officers to pat Ford down, and during the pat down, Belardo felt what he suspected was a gun in Ford's bag. Police said the officers tried to detain Ford, but he resisted, and an altercation broke out.

Police said Ford was eventually taken into custody.

Authorities said Ford's bag contained two guns, one with an obliterated serial number, and a search of the vehicle led authorities to find a third gun they said was a "ghost gun."

Police said after Ford was detained, his brother Josiah Ford, 22, also of Philadelphia, showed up and confronted police, demanding his brother be released. Josiah Ford was eventually taken into custody after police said he tried to physically intervene in the arrest. He was charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, police told Patch.

Upper Moreland Police Department officers assisted Belardo and Galiczynski at the scene, none of whom were injured.

"We extend our gratitude to the Upper Moreland Police Department for their invaluable assistance," Abington Police said on social media. "Additionally, Officers Belardo and Galiczynski are commended for their outstanding handling of the situation."
