Hello and Happenings!

Welcome to the first post of "The Village", your source for events and news from the historic Keswick Village.

July 4th is next Thursday, but before you pack up the car and head down the shore check out the Glenside Parade and day long celebration!  Starting in Ardsley, the parade route heads up Jenkintown road, makes a right onto Easton, and then finally turns on Waverly to end at the Glenside Hall.

With its wide uncluttered sidewalks Keswick Village is a great place to watch the parade,  from New Life Church, down the shaded wall in front of the old Weldon school, across the street on the firehouse lawn, Trios Pizza beautiful porch (I hope they are open!), there is plenty of space to take in the red white and blue!

While you are in the area don't forget to take a stroll down Keswick Avenue and do some window shopping!  There's a cute new shoe and accessory shop that has taken over where the Irish shop was located called "The Glass Slipper".  I'm in love with their logo, selection, and prices!

Other businesses, including "Taste of Philly" pretzels on the corner of Easton and Keswick Avenue will be open to provide snacks, refreshment, and I'm sure a much needed quick AC and crowd break.  (Check with individual businesses for their holiday hours.)

See something you love and just have to have but the shopkeep is out enjoying themselves too? (Hey we all need a day off!)  Well hold off on the shore one more day!  First Friday is July 5th!  Most shops will be open late and offering specials!

Plus, I hear the always popular, "The Planets" will be playing outside of Penny's Flowers this month! What a treat to enjoy a slice from Glenside Pizza while being serenaded by live music!

That's all for now!  Don't forget to check back often for news on your favorite spots, upcoming events (planning for the fall festival is in full swing look for and update in our next post!) and other Village musings.
