House Fire Under Investigation In Abington Township
The McKinley Fire Company and numerous crews battled a fire on Stephen Road on Wednesday night.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A house fire is under investigation after fire crews found heavy smoke on Wednesday night, authorities said.
The McKinley Fire Company responded after 10 p.m. Wednesday for heavy smoke in the area of a residence on Stephen Road, which was upgraded to a working fire once units arrived and reported on conditions.
Responding crews from the township along with mutual aid companies made a quick knockdown of the fire, and it was confirmed that no occupants were home at the time.

A majority of the responding units were released within an hour, while Station 200 remained on the scene into the early morning supporting the investigation of the fire.
"Thank you to our mutual aid companies and the fire marshals from both Cheltenham and Lower Moreland Townships in assisting," the fire company said.

The Abington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
Among the fire departments responding were the Abington Township Fire Department, Abington Fire Company, Weldon Fire Company, Edge Hill Fire Company, Roslyn Fire Company, Rockledge Fire Company, Jenkintown Fire Company, and the Second Alarmer's Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County.
