Hurricane Maria Relief Collection for Puerto Rico at Arcadia

On Sunday, Nov. 12, Arcadia University will collect donations for Puerto Rico for Hurricane Maria relief.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, the Arcadia University student organization Melanin in Action (MIA) will help lead an effort to collect donations for Puerto Rico as part of Hurricane Maria relief. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., community members can drop off items listed on the flyer at the University’s “Resident Parking Lot” (Lot 12), located immediately to the right after turning off of Church Road.

Items being collected include soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, diapers and baby wipes, deodorant, hand sanitizer, feminine products, can openers, peanut butter, plastic and surgical gloves, new socks, batteries, flashlights, non-perishable snacks in the original packaging, and first aid items. Clothing, water, and perishable items will not be accepted.

Items can also be dropped off outside Easton Hall room 334, Taylor Hall 107B, and Brubaker Hall 217. An off campus location is also available at Imhotep Institute Charter School at 6201 N. 21st Street, Philadelphia, 19138.

The donations will be dispersed across the island by Unidos por Puerto Rico, which deliverers goods to mountainous locations on the island that are hard to reach.
