ICE Activity Details Unveiled In Abington Twp.
State Sen. Art Haywood said the Montgomery County Watch group and residents were on the scene as ICE agents appeared on Friday morning.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — When ICE agents arrived in the township on Monday morning, residents and a Montco community watch group were on the scene.
State Sen. Art Haywood said that ICE agents were spotted on Easton Road near Jenkintown Road on Friday morning.
Abington Police said the activity by federal immigration authorities was a "targeted effort for one specific individual who we understand is out on bail for a sex-related offense."

Numerous protests have taken place throughout the Philadelphia region regarding ICE activity in the nation and in Minnesota, which led to the deaths of two residents.
Haywood said in a Facebook post that no arrests were reported on Friday. He thanked concerned neighbors and the Montgomery County Community Watch group.

Montco Community Watch said they confirmed ICE agents on Easton Road at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. The watch group said that no detentions were suspected, and all ICE agents had left the scene.
Abington Police Chief Patrick Molloy recently addressed how his police department and others in Montgomery County would handle ICE activity when it appeared in the area.
