State Rep. Ben Sanchez said that he and his wife, Karen, "could not be more proud of our teenagers, including our own two daughters and all of the youth in our community" who participated in the walkout protest of ICE at Abington Senior High School, which was not a school-sanctioned event.

"We're proud of them all for conducting a peaceful protest and exercising their constitutional rights under the First Amendment," Sanchez said. "We're inspired by their spirit to stand up and speak out for what's right. And they undertook this on their own, by themselves, without coaching or pressure from adults. Our youth are telling us something about how we've been treating people in this country, and we should listen."
