Jaguars Are On The Way To Montgomery County

Big cats are on the way to the borough, thanks to a huge donation.
A $3 million donation from the Carmen A. Danella Foundation and the Howarth Family has officially set into motion work on the Elmwood Park Zoo’s newest exhibit: jaguars.

“Majestic Predators: On the Trail of the Jaguar” has already begun groundbreaking.
The new exhibit will house four jaguars, Inka and Zean, as well as provide homes for our yet-to-be-acquired ocelots and jaguarondi, both wildcats native to Central and South America, the zoo said.

Designed by the same team that created Disney’s Animal Kingdom, “Majestic Predators” will bring guests “closer than ever” to these predators and their natural habitats.
