Jenkintown Names New Schools Superintendent

JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The School District of Jenkintown has named its next schools superintendent.
The school board is expected to appoint Brea D'Angelo, an administrator in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, at its meeting on Monday night.
The school district said that D'Angelo will begin her tenure on July 13.

D'Angelo is expected to attend the meeting and also will meet with staff, parents, and community members over the coming weeks.
Interim Schools Superintendent Steven Van Mater will continue to serve in the post until D'Angelo takes over.

School officials said Van Mater will return to his previous role as Director of Curriculum and Human Resources this summer.
D'Angelo currently serves as the Director of Educational Affairs in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, a role she has held for the last five years, school officials said.
D'Angelo was selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates for her unique combination of academic, operational, and communications experience.
Throughout the search process, which included input from staff and community members, she demonstrated the collaborative and respectful leadership style valued by the Jenkintown district.
Her extensive background in education includes:
Administrative Leadership: Served as an administrator since 2014, including roles as Principal of Pennypack Elementary School and Assistant Principal at Keith Valley Middle School.
District Initiatives: Led significant districtwide projects in technology, construction, curriculum, staff development, and comprehensive planning.
Teaching Roots: Began her professional career as a teacher in the Lower Moreland School District.
