Jenkintown Ranked Among Best School Districts In Pennsylvania

JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Centennial School District has been ranked the eighth-best school district in Montgomery County and the 31st-best in Pennsylvania in Niche’s 2025 Best Schools and Districts rankings released Monday.

Niche gave the school district an overall letter grade of B+. Grades in specific categories were:

• Academics - A
• Diversity - B
• Teachers - A
• College Prep - A+
• Clubs & Activities - B+
• Administration- A+

Jenkintown also ranked 23rd for best places to teach in Pennsylvania and 154th for the most diverse school districts in Pennsylvania. The rankings in Montgomery County for those categories are the 5th best places to teach and the 15th most diverse district.

In the Philadelphia region, Jenkintown ranks as the 21st-best school district, 12th place to teach, and 80th most diverse district.

Jenkintown also received a B for food, a B+ for sports, and a B+ for resources and facilities.

The Jenkintown School District is a highly-rated, public school district located that has 710 students in grades K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1. According to state test scores, 56 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 72 percent in reading.

The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also include input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
