Jenkintown Sets Date For 150th Anniversary Celebration

JENKINTOWN, PA —For this past year, the borough has held numerous celebrations for Jenkintown's 150th anniversary.

Not the event of all events has been announced.

At 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, the borough will celebrate the borough.

Jenkintown Borough was incorporated on Dec. 8, 1874, and that important milestone in the borough's community’s history will be marked by a special ceremony honoring the past and is also looking to its future.

Event Highlights include:

• Time Capsule Burial: A momentous event to preserve artifacts and memories for generations to come.
• Essay Readings: Hear reflections on Jenkintown’s past, present, and future by students from the Jenkintown School District.
• Remarks by Officials: Hear from local leaders and distinguished guests as they commemorate this historic day.
• Hot Chocolate & Refreshments: Cozy up with a warm drink as we celebrate together.
• Live Music: Local musicians will provide a festive soundtrack for the event.
