Jessie's Day - Give the Gift of Scholarship - Honors Memory of Local Girl - Sept. 25

College Bound organ transplant recipients receive scholarships at Jessie's Day, Sept 25, Independence Seaport Museum

The Jessica Beth Schwartz Memorial Scholarship, in partnership with the Gift of Life Donor Program, will host the 14th Annual Jessie’s Day - “Give the Gift Scholarship” event on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia. Funds raised from Jessie’s Day provide scholarships for four local college-bound recipients of life-saving organ transplants.

Jessica was a beautiful young Rydal woman who received a life-saving heart transplant at age 14. She dreamed of an education. She enjoyed 8 1/2 more years of life and graduated from Harcum Junior College, but sadly passed away at age 23 just as she was to begin her Senior year at Temple University.

Special happenings at Jessie’s Day include an appearance by DJ Casey and crew of radio station Q102, additional music by DJ A-Run, and the creation of a mural for auction by internationally-recognized free-style graffiti artist Alloyius Mcilwaine. Attendees will partake in breathtaking views of the Philadelphia waterfront and enjoy entrance to the museum, a silent auction, drinks in the beer garden, local restaurant specialties, music, and interactive entertainment. Tickets range from $30 for college students with ID to $55 (pre-sale until 9/9 is $45) for adults. To purchase tickets visit www.jessiesday.org @jessiesday03
