K9 Dylan Mourned In Cheltenham Township

Cheltenham Township announced the passing of the dog that served in the police department for nearly a decade.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Cheltenham Township Police Department is mourning the loss of K9 Dylan.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of retired K9 Dylan, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past Friday at the age of 10," police said in a Facebook post.

Police said that K9 Dylan served in the Cheltenham Township Police Department from 2016 to 2025, alongside his devoted partner, retired Police Officer Ed Farrell.

Throughout his distinguished career, K9 Dylan played a vital role in numerous searches, helping to apprehend many suspects and making a lasting impact on the department and community he served, police said.

"More than his service, Dylan was a loyal partner, a protector, and a beloved member of the Farrell family," police said. "Thank you for your dedication, bravery, and unwavering service. Rest easy—you have earned it."
