Lady Hatters Field Hockey Goes PINK

Hatboro-Horsham Ladies' Field Hockey raises funds for local cancer patients.

Hatboro-Horsham— 11.30.15The Lady Hatters Field Hockey team of Hatboro-Horsham High School goes PINK each year during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Their goal is to raise funds through t-shirt sales, corporate sponsorships and a bake sale to help local families who are struggling with cancer. On October 14th, the girls took the field for their Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game, donning pink jerseys.

The $1,251.00 raised was donated in full to The Breathing Room Foundation. The funds will be used to provide oil to keep the heat on, to pay utility bills to keep the electricity on, to provide hot meals, and to provide rides to and from treatments for local cancer patients and their families.

“The Lady Hatters and their families and supporters are heroes to our foundation and to our families each year,” said Susan Kennedy, Development Director of The Breathing Room Foundation. “We rely on the support of community fundraisers such as this, to enable us to assist the more than 650 families we are caring for this year.”

The Breathing Room Foundation

The Breathing Room Foundation is best characterized as neighbors helping neighbors impacted by cancer. Established in 1997, the Breathing Room Foundation has grown from supporting seven families the first year to serving 628 new families in 2014. Our mission is to provide care and support to families affected by cancer. We recognize that a cancer diagnosis affects every aspect of a family’s life: emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial. We strive to provide a family with whatever it is that will allow them a bit of “breathing room” from their daily struggle against cancer. It is our hope that this will allow them to concentrate all of their efforts towards regaining their physical health. www.breathingroomfoundation.org
