Why are you seeking a position in local government?
The current Commission has 14 Democrats and 1 Republican. The Comprehensive and Strategic Plan the commissioners want to pass will over build and densify Abington. Our current infrastructure does not support the potential number of apartments these plans want to build. It will further strain our school and healthcare systems. Our wonderful police department is also trying to keep us safe with the growing crime. In addition, our taxes have been increased the past several years making it difficult for both young and older home owners.

What are your qualifications/experience?
I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA. I’m a retired hospital administrator and have developed numerous strategic plans and budgets. I have time to do a deep dive into the budget and identify wasteful spending.
What are three main issues you plan to take on in office?
(1) Transparency in what is being planned in the Township and Zoning Ordinances that need to be adjusted to protect residential areas . (2) Safety- ensure our Police have the resources they need to keep the community safe. (3) Fiscal accountability in an effort to stabilize taxes.
Who are elected official or political/community leaders who inspire you?
Currently, Liz Ferry, a candidate for Montgomery County Commissioner. Before that she served as an Upper Dublin Commissioner. She was the only Republican and worked with Democrats to reduce taxes and preserve open space. I want to do the same thing in Abington. The difference is I don’t want to run for any other office.
What are some other personal information details you want voters to know about you ahead of the election?
I have lived in Abington for 30 years. My husband Greg and I raised our 4 daughters in the Township a majority of that time in Ward 1. We have 4 grandchildren, one lives in Abington the other 3 live in surrounding townships Upper Moreland and Upper Dublin. I’m an avid runner and many probably see me running in their neighborhood. I care deeply about this Township and want it to be a nice and affordable community for young people to raise their children.
