Looking For a Recipe? Check Out Green Beans and Onions

It's simple, it's delicious

I’ve been making this one for years and had forgotten all about it.  So today is your lucky day. I’ve dusted off the tried and true recipe to share with you. Honestly, it’s super simple so I should not boast too much.

Ingredients:

1 large Vidalia or sweet onion, sliced very thinly

1 pound green beans cleaned, ends removed

1 clove garlic (medium size) diced

Olive oil

Salt

Pepper

Directions:

1.  In a 12-inch skillet, add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil and the diced garlic. Brown the garlic and remove skillet from heat.

2.  Add in the green beans and onion slices.

3.  Sprinkle drops of olive oil on top, about 2 more tablespoons total. The oil should be just enough to keep them from burning and sticking.

4.  Add a few dashes of salt and pepper and toss everything in the skillet or stir well.

5. Cook on medium heat, stirring frequently until onion and green beans are fully cooked (about 15 minutes).  I prefer the onions to be browned, so I let them cook for about 25 minutes.  The longer they cook, the sweeter the onion will taste in your dish.
