Man Murdered Lover, Their Unborn Child In Montgomery County: DA

Breaking: The married man was carrying on an affair with the victim which his wife did not know about, the DA said.

ELKINS PARK, PA -- A man has been arrested for the murder of a mother and her unborn baby in Montgomery County last month. He had been carrying on an affair with the victim which his wife did not know about, and the child of the victim was his, according to authorities.

Tristian Jones, 35, of Philadelphia, now faces two counts of first degree murder.

Jones, the father of the unborn child, had a wife that did not know about White or the pregnancy, according to police. Jones later told police that White was angry with him for not ending his marriage. During an exchange of text messages with White on Feb. 17, Jones, who indicated he was a Jehovas Witness, said that "fornication is wrong," according to a criminal complaint. During the exchange, they disagreed about how to discuss explaining their relationship to Jones' children.

Interviews later revealed that White believed Jones was "not on board" with the pregnancy and that he had tried to give her a bottle of "white foamy liquid," the criminal complaint states. "Drink it if you love me. It will be good for you and the baby," Jones allegedly told White. Jones became angered when White refused, police said.

At around 7 pm. on the night on Feb. 18, Jones bought an Imusa paring knife and cutting board set from Burlington Coat Factory, according to authorities.

It was at around 3:20 a.m. on Feb. 19 that White's older child, aged 12, hid in the bathroom and called 911 as White and Jones began arguing aggressively at the Lynnwood Gardens Apartments in Elkins Park.

But when police arrived, it was too late. The 12-year-old child and White's other child, a 7-year-old, heard while Jones stabbed White to death, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Police found White dead from multiple stab wounds in the master bedroom when they arrived. Her unborn child was also dead. She was seven and a half months pregnant.

Bail was not offered to Jones and he was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for March 29.
