Man Shot In Legs, Left In Abington Street, Suspect Flees: Police

Authorities are investigating and no arrests have yet been made.

ABINGTON, PA — One man was shot in Abington Saturday morning and an investigation is underway, police said.

The incident occurred at around 3:20 a.m. on the 1600 block of Washington Avenue.

Police found a man lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs.

Officers arriving on the scene applied tourniquets to the victim, and began searching for the shooter, police said.

With the permission of a homeowner, they searched a nearby home, but were not able to find the suspect. They later discovered he had likely fled a vehicle before police arrived on the scene.

It's unclear what led up to the incident or motivated the shooting.

The victim was treated at Jefferson Abington Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
