Man Stabbed In Head On SEPTA Bus In Cheltenham

Cheltenham Police said two people are in custody following the incident in the township's Elkins Park section on Sunday.

CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people are in custody after a man was stabbed in the head while on a SEPTA bus on Sunday morning in the township's Elkins Park section, police said.

The Cheltenham Township Police Department and EMS responded at 8:07 a.m. on Sunday to the area of Old York Road and Breyer Drive in Elkins Park for the report of a stabbing on SEPTA 55 bus.

A man with a stab wound to the head was taken to an area trauma center for treatment and is expected to survive, Lt. Andrew Snyder said.

Two suspects fled from the bus before police arrived, but were caught after a foot chase in the area of Meetinghouse Road and Township Line Road with the assistance of the Abington Township Police Department.

The incident is under investigation by the Cheltenham and SEPTA police departments.
