Man Threatened To 'Shoot This Place Up' In Abington: Police

Eight firearms and narcotics were recovered after a man visited a North Hills home three times and made threats Friday, police said.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A man is in custody after threatening to "shoot this place up" and telling someone that “I’ll stitch you up too” during three trips to a North Hills home on Friday, police said.

Donte Vaughn faces charges of terroristic threats, violations of the Uniform Firearms Act, and narcotics possession. He was arraigned and is being held on $99,000 cash bail.

Detectives recovered eight firearms, three of which are un-serialized “Ghost Guns”, one was stolen from another jurisdiction, and one was outfitted with a device commonly referred to as a “Switch” which allows fully-automatic firing.

In addition to the firearms, body armor, several thousand rounds of ammunition, and narcotics were also recovered.

Police responded around 6:09 p.m. Friday to the 3000 block of Walnut Avenue in the North Hills section of the township for the report of an armed suspect who had just threatened the caller.

The victim told police that Vaughn was known to him and had been at the house three times that day.

Police said the victim reported that Vaughn had threatened to “shoot this place up” and threatened a second victim saying “I’ll stitch you up too” during an earlier encounter. V

Vaughn returned to the victim’s home brandishing a black handgun and called the victim down to the street to fight, police said.

The victim refused and Vaughn left the area. He was last seen walking towards his place of business on Mount Carmel Avenue, police said.

Additional police officers responded to that location and met with Vaughn, who had just emerged from inside the business.

Vaughn was detained and positively identified by the victim.

Vaughn was unarmed when taken into custody and it was believed the firearm used was inside the business. Abington detectives responded and with a signed search warrant, searched the property.
