Man Tried To Lure Montco Teen For Sex Through Instagram: DA

ABINGTON, PA — A man was arrested recently in Montgomery County after using Instagram in an attempt to lure a 15-year-old to have sex, the District Attorney's office announced on Monday afternoon.

Geonattan Fabiani, 30, of Philadelphia, faces numerous charges, including attempted statutory sexual assault, possession of child pornography, and related counts.

Authorities were alerted to the situation back on May 2, when a family member of the teen reported inappropriate communication with an older man.

The communication was sexual in nature and included numerous requests by Fabiani for naked photos of the child, according to authorities.

Police then used the child's phone to arrange a meeting with Fabiani, beginning to text him on May 5. They said he was well aware of the child's age, as the teen's Instagram account lists the child's age as "15 going on 16."

The conversations between Fabiani and police continued for weeks, until a meeting was finally arranged on June 4 at the Sunoco on Township Road in Jenkintown.

Fabiani was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Bail was set at $250,000, which he could not post. He was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 17.
