Man Who Robbed Abington CVS Wanted In Triple Shooting: Police
Abington Police said the man held up the CVS at gunpoint was arrested Wednesday. He had shot three people in Harrisburg last year.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —A man who robbed a CVS Pharmacy at gunpoint in February was wanted for shooting three people in Harrisburg last year, police said.
At 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 22, Abington Township Police said the CVS Pharmacy at 2622 Jenkintown Rd. was robbed at gunpoint.
A man —with his face covered with a surgical mask and sunglasses, and wearing gloves —stepped over the partition door, entering the employee area of the pharmacy.

He showed a handgun and demanded that the pharmacist open the safe and hand over all of the narcotics. After receiving the narcotics, he fled the store.
Abington Detectives, utilizing state-of-the-art cellular forensics, video surveillance analysis, and intelligence sharing with other police departments, were able to identify a suspect.

The man was identified as Shawn Tyrone Jason, 47, of North Street in Harrisburg.
In addition to the CVS robbery, detectives learned that Jason was wanted by Harrisburg Police for three counts of attempted homicide.
On Sept. 9, 2023, Jason allegedly shot three people, including a 4-year-old child, after a verbal dispute with neighbors in Harrisburg.
On Tuesday, Abington Police obtained an arrest warrant for Jason, charging him with robbery and related weapons offenses.
Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jason was arrested by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, without incident, after being surrounded in his hotel room in the 4600 block of Island Ave. Philadelphia.
Jason was transported back to the Abington Police Department, where he is being held on both the Abington and the Harrisburg arrest warrants.
He was expected to be arraigned sometime later on Wednesday.
Abington Police said the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department assisted in the investigation and arrest.
