Missing PA Teen Found Dead; Mother Charged: DA
Breaking: 14-year-old Grace Packer, who has been missing since July, was found dead and dismembered in the woods, authorities said Thursday.

A Montgomery County girl who was first reported missing in July is dead, and her mother is being charged, authorities announced in a press conference on Thursday afternoon. Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said that the remains of Grace Packer, 14, of Abington, were found on October by hunters.
Packer left her home in Abington on July 11 with $300, police said. She was found on October 31 in a wooded section of Bear Creek Township, in Luzerne County, according to authorities.
She had been dismembered and the only way authorities were able to identify her was through her dental records.

Her mother, 41-year-old Sarah Packer, is being charged with felony child endangerment, authorities said. The precise nature of her connection to Grace's disappearance and ultimate death remains unclear.
Sarah Packer was the one who originally reported her daughter was missing, but the DA said that she stopped cooperating with police about a month later. She allegedly did not provide police with vital information in the case.

The Packers were in the process of moving from Abington to Quakertown, where Sarah now resides, when Grace went missing.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities from Bucks, Montgomery, and Luzerne counties are working with the FBI on the case.
