Montco Lawmaker Demands $170M Refund From Trump Tariffs

State Sen. Art Haywood sent a letter to The White House demanding money back for residents in the Montgomery County district.

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — State Sen. Art Haywood has sent The White House a letter demanding a $170 million refund for his communities from the Trump Administration's tariffs.

On Monday, Haywood's letter to President Donald Trump addressed the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on the tariffs.

"The Supreme Court confirmed what the American people already knew — your administration's tariffs were illegally implemented without the support of Congress or the
voters. Our communities paid the price," Haywood said. "Thus, on behalf of the people of Pennsylvania State Senate District 4, I demand a refund of $1,700 for every family in my district."
