A Montco woman has filed a lawsuit against Uber, alleging she was left at the side of the PA Turnpike following a nightmarish ride.

ABINGTON, PA -- A Montgomery County woman has filed a civil suit after being left by the side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike by an Uber driver during a trip last year, according to multiple media reports and court documents.
The lawsuit, filed in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, seeks monetary damages for the incident and alleges that safety promises made by Uber are a "sham."
Carla Guzman, 38, a mother of two from Abington, said that her driver, a woman named Rachel, arrived to pick her up for her ride last June, her speech was slurred, reports state.

NBC10 reports that Rachel, who driving Guzman to the airport, took an unnecessarily long route. When Guzman tried to point that out, Rachel grew furious.
According to Philadelphia Magazine, Rachel began to curse, scream, and beat her fists against the steering wheel. Guzman described in the suit as "impaired."

She then slammed on the breaks and demanded Guzman get out of the car on the side of the turnpike, near the Route 309 exit, reports state. Guzman had to drag her bags to a nearby hotel to call for a cab; she ultimately missed her flight, the suit reportedly alleges.
Guzman's lawyer told NBC that Uber is shirking their responsibility to thoroughly vet drivers and provide a safe user experience. The lawsuit points to a recent settlement against Uber regarding passenger safety in which the plaintiffs won $28.5 million.
As for Rachel: she was reportedly suspended by Uber.
