The name Ujima comes from a Swahili principle meaning collective work and responsibility, reflecting the belief that individual well-being and community well-being are deeply connected. Ujima Life Services provides individual, couples, and group counseling for adolescents and adults, along with non-clinical wellness groups and educational offerings facilitated by licensed clinicians. Services are grounded in evidence-based mental health care while honoring the whole person—mind, body, relationships, and environment. In addition to therapy services, Ujima offers community wellness groups and workshops focused on stress reduction, emotional resilience, life transitions, and personal growth. Glencairn Museum’s galleries are open for exploration! Join us this spring on the third Thursday of April, May, and June for three opportunities to wander, discover, and enjoy the collection above and below the first floor. From 4:00–7:00 pm, visitors can self-guide through spaces usually seen on guided tours, as well as some spaces that are often unseen! Staff will be on hand to answer your questions and help you find your way. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available on the first floor.
Please note that the historic elevator will be available for accessibility only, and the Tower will not be available.
