New Abington Middle School Designs To Be Unveiled
The Abington School District will hold a public meeting on April 21 to show initial designs of its new middle school project.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington School District will host an Open House to share initial designs for the new Abington Middle School.
The Open House will be held at the Abington Middle School Little Theater at 6:30 p.m. on April 21.
Representatives from the school district's construction management firm, ICS, will review site and floor plans, with an opportunity for attendees to provide real-time feedback through an online survey.

The new middle school comes after residents in Abington Township and Rockledge Borough approved a $285 million investment through a referendum last year.
Attendees are asked to register for the Open House no later than April 17, though there will be an opportunity to register at the door, if needed.

“Since the beginning of this multi-year process, we have wanted our community to be involved in the future of Abington Middle School,” Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Fecher said. “As our building plans continue to take shape, it is important to us that the feedback loop remains ongoing to ensure that the Middle School reflects our community’s priorities.”
Over the 10 months since the referendum was passed, the District has sought ongoing feedback from key stakeholders to inform the development of the Abington Middle School designs, including through meetings with:
- Abington Township officials
- Neighbors whose properties immediately border the Middle School property
- Abington Middle School teachers and staff, who also took tours of other area schools
Additionally, a 21-question online survey was completed in December/January to continue to guide the District’s decision-making process.
Other future opportunities for community input were outlined in an orientation during the March 10 meeting of the Board of School Directors.
